Urban Cannabis

Taiwan is the country where we would like to propose our cannabis bank design. Co-incidentally, Taiwan has a very unique Architecture landscape that was in the state of ambiguity which corresponds to the state of cannabis in this society. Where we believe would be a perfect match to place our design.

With Taiwan’s climate condition and particular culture mindset, corrugated roof additions were built illegally with almost every privately owned apartment house. These additional spaces are used as an ancestral worship place, a place to laundry and a place to drink tea with family and friends. Even though it is technically illegal but they were widely loved.

By placing cannabis bank in these spaces, we are hoping to make a statement that cannabis one day can be accepted for the goods it can do even though it is currently illegal.

Circulation

The interior spaces were designed by different intimacy levels of the visitors. At first people were strangers and can only notice each other from the outside. After they know more about each other, they become friends, close friends, best friends, and maybe even lovers.

Visitors to who come across U-Can would first be presented by a low key but green (cannabis plants display) façade and gradually be introduced to cannabis by going through the exhibition area to the top floor terrace.
