After observing the local buoyancy carrier, we designed a combined floating apartment. Use local building materials “bamboo”. Combines natural ventilation design confrontate the hot tropical areas. The main axis of design for symbiosis with hydroponic fish and vegetables solves the problem of food shortage during floods.

Build Fender

Nature environment is suffering high pressure cause lot of factories and resident houses appear as people developing science and technology. The concept comes from the component of cells. Different components have individual effects and works, which build up a building that works like creature. Like cell controls in and out of materials, the building is to become the protection of earth. Pollution will be limited inside the building itself, while stopping destroying nature, it also purifies our environment.

Wind Pavilion

Due to the expansion of land use requirement, our living spaces gradually covered with high-rise buildings, however in contrast, nature environment decreased by time. High density of buildings cause air pressure which is huge and easy to be got. If we can use this power with a more efficient way, we may release the pressure and destroy to the environment. Besides, the urban square provides intelligent natural resources cycle system and combines the design of water, light, wind and temperature, allows people having a comfortable public space.

Floral Knot Rug

Floral Knot Rug is a carpet made of wool single-module blocks. It is hand-cut and knotted into a complete pattern. When we visit fabric markets in Taiwan, the fabric industry will have a lot of waste left after cutting. Most of the fabrics are difficult to use due to insufficient yardage which inspires us. Thus, the completed pattern becomes new one which can be used again. Using the oriental knot impression, the remaining fabrics are cut into single-module blocks, and each unit is repeatedly knitted, transformed into the abstract landscape of Eastern culture, and the collage of images woven with floral knots becomes a new rug.

Due to the small living space in Hong Kong, it is hoped that the “Shape of Light” will allow residents to create the connections between people in the open space of the split-level.

Bring a light sense of floating into Hong Kong’s high-density cement buildings, thereby breaking the architectural grid and allowing users to have more visual sense of rhythm. The reflectors on the top floor, combined with the light guide device, are placed in the atrium of the high building. With the light transmission properties of the materials, the visual weight of the panels is reduced to make the space lighter. By the way of suspension, the daylight lighting time can be increased indirectly.

LIGHT GUIDE

What if we take plant itself as the road light? Can we replace road light with natural plant itself?

Normally, Light pollution is the presence of anthropocentric light in the night environment. It is exacerbated by excessive, misdirected or obtrusive uses of light, but even carefully used light fundamentally alters natural conditions. As a major side-effect of urbanization, it is blamed for compromising health, disrupting ecosystems and spoiling aesthetic environments.

We create LIGHT GUIDE – a lighting device on mountain path to reduce light pollution. The plant is used as a veneer to self-illuminate and light the mountain path. It mixes energy, functions and materials by combining plants and device.

Central Park is an urban park in Manhattan, New York City. The Park is the most visited urban park in the United States, with 40 million visitors in a year, and one of the most filmed locations in the world. However, as a consequence of its location, only a small percentage of new yorkers are able to benefit from this vast public garden each day. In an attempt to make this green space available to more people, the proposed design connects the city buildings. In turn, this creates new city space along the exposed ecosystem.

In order to respond to the hot weather, we have developed a façade that can control the area of sunlight and control the temperature at any time. Main idea is from a stoma, found in the epidermis of leaves, stems, and other organs, that facilitates gas exchange. The pore is bordered by a pair of specialized parenchyma cells known as guard cells that are responsible for regulating the size of the stomatal opening and closing.

Tetris Playing Tower

Using the classic game “Tetris” as the basic element. To create a dream world that belongs to children, not only includes the idea of having fun, but also introduces programs of “teaching” and “family activities” to achieve a multi-functional effect.

The whole building is a parent-child hotel, a teaching space and a recreation paradise, so that the children can learn together with their families in the joyous world, which not only increases children’s learning desires but helps to narrow the intimacy between parents and children.

Music has reflected our sweets and bitters of life, however, most of us take it for granted and then neglect its importance. Announced by Beijing Hearing Association, there are over 72 million people in China suffering in hearing loss, which occupied over 20 percent of the total population with impaired hearing in the world.

However, the loss of hearing leads directly to the enhancement of other senses, especially on vision and feeling, therefore, we focus on utilizing chromatic light as well as the mobile phone to provide dual perceptions so that those deaf people can feel the music.

Floral Knotting

Floral Knotting comes from our study of the wood industry in Taiwan. There will be many scraps left after process. Most of the remaining wood is not easy to use due to its size, which inspired us to effectively reuse the remaining timber. Use it to make it a furniture that can be used again. Using the traditional floral knot impression, the remaining wood was cut into single-module blocks, and the timber was reconverted into oriental abstract floral knot glossary.
