Libeskind將三個巨大的方塊疊合在一起，外表清一色是不銹鋼貼皮，而且看起來歪歪斜斜的，視覺上很難達到平衡。整體造型在乍看之下，就如同三塊鐵磚被狠狠的砸在地上，而且有一部份因為太用力了而陷進土裡。

研究生中心內包含了一間相當現代化的演講廳、三間專題討論教室、資訊科技設備及交誼空間。由於設備齊全，資源豐富，足以吸引一些打算從事研究的學生來此就讀。由於建築物的造型新穎突出，也大大提升了學習熱忱，讓在此研究的學生們身處頂級的設計作品中，處處感受到環境的優質與高水準。
 
 
   
設計論述  
 
Libeskind explained the purpose behind his design: "The building is composed of three intersecting volumes with a distinctive presence on the street and unique interior spaces. The building is clad entirely with embossed stainless steel panels creating a shining and ever-changing surface. Windows are conceived as large geometrical cuts providing accentuated natural light for the interior. The spaces are simple, bold volumes which provide multi-purpose flexibility."
   這棟建築是由三個交錯的量體所組成，外型獨特，室內空間也別樹一格。整個建築外牆都貼滿了有裝飾花紋的不銹鋼板，閃亮炫目，不同時刻有不同的風貌。窗戶造型是大塊的幾何切割，可以引進大量的日照。空間形式則由簡單、厚重的量體塑成，空間利用則具彈性，有多種使用功能。
     
The Orion project has an enlivening impact on the wider urban context and particularly on the image and accessibility of the University. The three intersecting elements that form the building strategically emphasise certain relationships: one creates a connection between the public, the new building and the university behind, one form gestures from the university toward the tube connection to the city and one more regular form stitches the new building into the context of Holloway Road. A small plaza at the entrance provides an accent and an engaging gateway.   設計概念在於三個交錯的單元，強調著三種關係：

1.連結背後的大學校區、研究生中心及大眾
2.狀似自大學直接經由地鐵連接到市中心

設計手法  
 

Libeskind運用許多在柏林猶太博物館常見到的手法，包括運用不銹鋼做為建築外牆，並產生許多斜線的分割，以及出現許多不規則銳角的幾何圖形開窗。

這些表現在猶太博物館及戰爭博物館都能看到，那都是屬於一種經徹底破壞後再重新組裝的概念， 但檢視此案，似乎並沒有牽涉明顯的象徵意涵或隱喻，純粹是由一個典型的Libeskind式建築外型出發，並賦予建築物對於基地涵構扮演一個「連接點、樞紐」的角色，期待以新穎、前衛的思維，吸引亟欲開創新局的學生，引領全人類走向寬廣的未來世界。
