Paolo Portoghesi

The doyen of Rome architects. A strong reaction to Rationalism led him to study Art Nouveau, classic geometry and the organic forms of nature. His bold grasp of history fueled his committed experiment with early postmodernism, ever since the Baldi House of 1959-61. He also designs ceramics and is publisher of the journal Europalino.
